6 women killed, 3 injured as car collides with truck in sikar
Bharatpur, Jan. 15 -- At least six people were killed and three others were injured after a car collided with a truck in Sikar district on Wednesday, police said.
"The accident took place on the Jaipur-Bikaner national highway near Harswa village under Fatehpur police station. Upon being informed, police reached the spot and pulled out all the nine passengers who got stuck in the damaged car. They were rushed to Fatehpur hospital from where three injured were referred to Jaipur," Fatehpur police station in-charge Surendra Singh, said, adding that six people, all women, were killed.
Singh said that passengers in the car were on their way to Fatehpur. "The accident took place at a turn in Fatehpur, where a truck coming from the opposite side took the wrong lane and the car lost its control... leading to the collision," he said.
Police have seized the truck and detained its driver. An FIR is being lodged against the driver for negligence driving, officials said....
