BIKANER, May 11 -- The recovery of six sophisticated foreign-made firearms from gang-linked operatives during a major crackdown in Rajasthan has triggered security concerns over an emerging cross-border drone-based arms smuggling network allegedly operating from across the Pakistan border, polices said on Sunday. Investigators believe drones are increasingly being used to push advanced weapons into Rajasthan and Punjab. During a specialised enforcement drive conducted between February 25 and May 5, 2026, police recovered Austria-made Glock-style Pistol, a Glock semi-automatic pistol; China-made Tokarev-style pistol; Parwaz-labelled semi-automatic pistol, manufactured in the Khyber Pass region. IG Bikaner Range, Om Prakash, told HT that criminal syndicates are increasingly exploiting aerial delivery systems to bypass conventional border security mechanisms. According to investigators, gangs are attempting to upgrade their operational capabilities by sourcing high-grade foreign weapons through drone drops in the border sectors,.
