5 held for murder of repeat offender
Bharatpur, Oct. 26 -- Five people were arrested on Saturday for allegedly killing a repeat offender in Jhunjhunu, police said.
Brijesh Upadhyay, Jhunjhunu superintendent of police said that on October 20, Denish alias Naresh Bawariya was attacked by some people with the intention to kill him.
He was taken to district hospital where doctors referred him to Jaipur where he was declared dead by the doctors on the same day.
According to police, before death, his statements were recorded where he alleged that around 15 people attacked him with iron rods when he went to buy fireworks for Diwali festival.
Five police teams were formed to search for the accused and over 230 CCTV cameras placed near roads were checked, police said.
12 accused were identified, of whom five have been arrested so far while search operation continues for other absconded accused, Upadhyay said.
The arrested accused confessed that Dipak Malsariya, one of the absconding accused in the case, was assaulted by Bawariya in March, after which he planned to take revenge.
The arrested were identified as Ajay Meghwal (22), Kapil Kaswan (27) resident of Jhunjhunu, Tara Chand Meghwal (22), Rahul Nai (22) and Pankaj Jat (24) resident of Sikar district.
A case has been registered under sections 103 (Punishment for murder), 109 (attempt to murder), 111 (organised crime), 115 (voluntarily causing hurt), 191 (rioting), 307 (theft after preparation made for causing death, hurt or restraint) and relevant sections of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, police said.
