Bharatpur, Dec. 1 -- A 42-year-old Booth Level Officer(BLO), deployed for Special Intensive Revision(SIR) work collapsed at his home and died, police said on Sunday, adding his family has alleged that he was working under extreme pressure. The incident took place on Saturday night when the BLO, identified as Anuj Garg, was working till late night. The deceased BLO was a third grade teacher of Senior Secondary School of Barah village of Dholpur. Anuj was posted as a BLO in Dholpur city's Gaushala sector. He fell on the ground at home in Pratap Vihar Colony, minutes after asking for tea, police said. His sister Vandana Garg said that due to the workload and pressure of SIR, Anuj Garg returned from his field to house. "He was on routine work for SIR. The incident occurred around 1 am on Saturday night when he asked for tea but fell unconscious before having tea," she said. He was taken to district Mangal Singh hospital by his kin where doctors declared him dead. Kin of the deceased alleged that he was under pressure of SIR workload. He worked late at night daily at home, they said. He was uploading forms of voters through mobile but his health deteriorated. Srinidhi BT,Dholpur District Collector said that BLO Anuj Garg was appointed as BLO at Krishi Upaj Mandi area. He had completed 78.66% work of SIR. Six government school teachers as Balmukund Bansal, Rakesh Chauhan,Ranvir Singh, Rajulal Verma, Surendra Pal and Sadhna Garg were appointed to associate him, Srinidhi BT said. His health was good when he appeared in a meeting of BLOs, held on Friday. On Sunday morning, Nihalganj police and district medical officer Dr Samerveer Singh visited Anuj's house to record statements. Police said the body has been handed over to family members after a post-mortem examination. Congress leader Sachin Pilot, who was on a two-day tour in Tonk on Saturday alleged that many BLOs have died by suicide in seven states across the country while working under mental pressure. Reacting to the comments, Hemraj Meena,Bharatpur division BJP in-charge denied that BLOs are working under pressure and said that SIR work is transparent and the voter list will be clean after the process. "BLOs are not working under pressure. One time one election will be complete after SIR. SIR is launched before the election. After completing SIR works, the government will focus on development works," he said....
