32-yr-old repeat offender shoots former partner, dies by suicide
Jaipur, July 13 -- A 32-year-old man, who was booked in several criminal cases across Kota, died by suicide on Friday night after shooting a 29-year-old lawyer at her head over a relationship dispute, said officials.
The deputy police superintendent, Manish Sharma, said, "The two had been in a relationship for the last two years but the man recently got married to another woman three months ago. On Friday, they had a scuffle. After a few while, the man took out his gun and shot her and later he also shot himself to death. However, the woman is still alive."
According to the officials, the incident took place at around 11.30 pm on Friday night, the woman was returning from the Kota district court after her duty was over.
"She picked up the man from middle of her way to home and both were on the same two wheeler. The woman demanded that the man get a divorce from his wife, and the discussion escalated into an heated argument on the road," said Sharma.
During the argument, Gurjar had suddenly taken put his gun and shot her from behind her head. "The woman immediately fainted on the street and the man mistook that she might have been died. He got scared and died by suicide with the same gun causing his death," the officer added.
Meanwhile, a man witnessed the incident and immediately called the police. "A team from the local police station immediately reached the spot and rushed both to the Kota New Medical College and Hospital where the man was declared dead and the woman was admitted to the intensive care unit in a serious condition," the DSP said.
Police further added that a case of murder was lodged under section 103 of the BNS and the woman's statement was also recorded.
"Gurjar's body was sent for an autopsy and an FSL team was also appointed in the spot for an examination. We have also recovered the gun from the spit and it was found to be smuggled illegally. The woman is still critical. We are speaking to the families of both the parties. Further probe is underway," he said.
"Both the man and his father had a minimum of three to four criminal cases of smuggling and brawling on their names across various police stations in Kota. We are probing how the woman and man met," said Sharma....
