3 killed as truck, motorcycle collide in Churu
BIKANER, April 8 -- Three men died in a head-on collision between a truck and a motorcycle on the Sujangarh-Chhapar road in Churu district late on Monday evening, police said.
The accident occurred under Chhapar police station limits. The truck driver fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle after the crash.
Station House Officer Indralal Maharshi of Chhapar police station said the victims were travelling towards Chhapar on a motorcycle when they collided with an oncoming truck. The impact was so severe that three of the riders lost their lives.
Two of the deceased, Bhagirath (27) and Sanwarmal (23), both residents of Chhapar, died on the spot. The third victim, Birbal Meghwal (24), succumbed to his injuries during treatment at a hospital in Sujangarh. Another man, Ishwar, sustained critical injuries and was referred to Jaipur after primary treatment at the Sujangarh hospital.
On receiving information about the incident, deputy superintendent of police Nemichand and Station House Officer Indralal Maharshi reached the spot with a police team. With locals' help, the injured man was rushed to Government Bagaria Hospital in Sujangarh....
