24-yr-old gang-raped by 4 in Alwar: Police
Jaipur, May 2 -- A 24-year-old National Entrance Eligibility Test (NEET) aspirant was gang-raped allegedly by four people while she was returning home from her coaching centre in Alwar district on Wednesday night, police officers aware of the matter said on Thursday, adding that a manhunt has been launched to track down the accused who are currently absconding.
According to a police station in-charge in Alwar, Dinesh Meena, "The incident took place at around 10pm. The woman was returning home from the coaching institute on foot. The four accused suddenly appeared in an e-rickshaw and abducted her. She screamed, but got no help as the road was deserted at that point of time. The accused then gagged her with a piece of cloth."
He added, "The student was taken to a desolate area, where the four accused raped her repeatedly for over three hours. They also recorded a video of the act, and threatened her that they would circulate the clip on social media if she approached police."
Later, they left the woman near a hospital in the same e-rickshaw and fled from the spot, police said.
"The woman called her brother who came to the spot and took her home. Later, she went to the police station and lodged a complaint," Meena said.
Police said that based on her complaint, a first information report (FIR) was registered under section 70(2) (gangrape) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against four unidentified people.
"The victim's medical test has been conducted. We are scanning footage of CCTV cameras near the hospital and her coaching centre. Police are searching for the four perpetrators and further probe is on," said Meena....
