Jaipur, July 22 -- At least six people have been detained on Monday after nine people stabbed a 22-year-old man 14 times till his death and then waved a knife on social media to declare their "revenge" in Jaipur on Sunday night, police said on Monday. The Jaipur (East) deputy police commissioner (DCP), Tejaswini Gautam, said, "The incident took place at Jaipur's Paldi Meena, Jamdoli area late on Sunday night. Prima facie, the victim Vipin Nayak and Anas had a long-time feud over some disputes regarding land and a shop." She said that Anans and his aides killed Vipin near his house when he was returning from his work. "Anas and eight other people arrived in three two-wheelers, they surrounded Vipin and engaged into a heated argument during which Anas took out a dagger and launched a brutal attack on Vipin. Soon after the incident, all the accused fled the spot while Vipin's neighbours rushed him to the SMS Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries," she said. Gautam said that Anans also posted a video of the incident on his social media in which he waved the knife and declared that his revenge was successful. "However, he deleted the video a few minutes later," she said. A team from the local Jamdoli police station along with the senior police officers including DCP Gautam and Additional police commissioner Kunwar Rashtradeep reached the spot soon after the incident. "An additional force has been deployed in the area to keep watch of the law and order situation. Meanwhile, several teams were formed who were sent to the nearby areas of Jaipur to track the nine accused on Sunday night only," she said, adding that a murder case under section 103 of BNS has been lodged against nine people at Jamdoli police station. On Monday, the incident sparked a protest as some people including the victim's neighbours and family members attempted to block the Jaipur-Agra highway demanding a Rs.50 Lakh compensation, a government job to one of the family members, suspension of the Jadoli police station inspector, and immediate arrest of the accused, said officials. "They, in large numbers, tried to block the highway and stage a dharna on Monday. When police went to speak to them, the protesters also hurled stones at them following which we had to use a mild force to disperse the crowd," Gautam said. The police has detained six people. "However, Anas tried to flee when our team went to arrest him on Monday. He took away a pistol from an ASI and opened fire at the cops. In retaliation, police also had to fire at him during which he sustained a bullet injury at his leg. He is currently undergoing treatment. We are questioning the detained accused. Further probe is underway," she said....
