21-yr-old man's death sparks row; legislator blames police
Bharatpur, May 13 -- The death of a 21-year-old man who was allegedly transporting stolen river sand has sparked a furore, with assembly member from Bari Jaswant Gurjar alleging that police attacked and killed him on Monday in Dholpur.
The incident occurred under police station Sempau when police followed tractor trolleys, allegedly transporting illegal river sand. Police seized three trolleys full of sand while another tractor trolley overturned during an escape attempt
The man, who was transporting the sand was injured and taken to hospital where doctors declared him dead. The deceased was identified as Pawan Gurjar (21) of village Chaukipura.
Dholpur SSP Sumit Meherada said police took action against the illegal mining mafia on national highway 123. and the man died when a tractor overturned in the confrontation....
