2 mp journalists booked for 'defaming' dycm
Jaipur, Oct. 19 -- Two Madhya Pradesh based journalists were detained by Jaipur police on Friday night for allegedly running false reports against the deputy chief minister Diya Kumari, said officials.
Jaipur police commissioner, Biju George Joseph, said, "Based on a complaint from an individual, the editor-in-chief of The Sootr and Harish Divekar, the managing editor- were detained by the Jaipur police from Bhopal on Friday night for allegedly hatching a conspiracy to tarnish the Rajasthan deputy chief minister Diya Kumari's image and running false reports on their portal. However, they were released on Saturday after they, during interrogation, claimed those videos were AI-generated ones."
He further added that the police, however, also asked them to provide their voice samples and their response to some questions related to the case within five days.
"Since they are cooperating with the police during the investigation, we have released them. Once they send the samples and their response, we will probe the matter further. Necessary actions will be taken if they are found guilty," said Joseph.
According to the complaint lodged on September 28, the accused Anand Pandey and Harish Divekar had published around a dozen allegedly fabricated stories against Kumari over the last month on the news portal, 'The Sootr'....
