Jaipur, Oct. 14 -- Two people, including the wife of a patient who was being taken to SMS Hospital in an ambulance, were killed in the early hours of Monday after the vehicle collided with a truck on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway in Bagru. "The incident took place at the Chhitroli bus stand in Jaipur's Bagru where a tanker carrying palm oil was parked. At 12:30 am, it was suddenly hit by a truck from behind following which some oil spilled on the road. The tyres of the ambulance coming at a high speed slipped on this oil leading to the accident," said Sher Singh, SI of the Bagru police station. According to police, the ambulance was heading towards the SMS Hospital in Jaipur from Kishangarh. "The ambulance had a speed of over 100 km/hour when the accident happened. After the vehicle slipped on the oil, the driver lost control and hit the truck. It was carrying five people including a patient. The patient's wife and his son's friend died on the spot," he said. The deceased were identified as Dinesh Kumari (55) and Veeram Singh (31). The injured included the patient himself Bittudas Vaishnaw (60), his son Amit Vaishnaw (30), and the driver Satish Dhamani (39). The injured people were taken to the SMS Hospital by the locals.
