2 gangsters killed in shootout between gangs in Jhunjhunu
Bharatpur/Jhunjhunu, Dec. 13 -- Two suspected gangsters were shot dead during a "gang war" on Friday morning in Jhunjhunu district, police said, adding that four people have been detained.
According to police, the incident occurred in Khirod village, where four members of a gang allegedly opened fire at the repeat offender Ravindra Kateva but the bullet hit his colleague, Sunil Sunda.
Both injured were rushed to district hospital where Sunil Sunda and accused Krishan Kant Palsana were declared dead by the doctors.
Police detained three accused who were involved in firing at Kateva.
Krishan Kant Palsana, also a repeat offender, along with his three colleagues reached the house of Ravindra Kateva.
Jhunjhunu superintendent of police, Brijesh Jyoti Upadhyay, said, "The gang war was over a land dispute. There is a land in village Bhadwasi where the goon sent his gang members to kill history-sheeter Ravindra Kateva."
"Two were shot dead in the firing. Police detained four people from both gangs."
Police teams have been formed to identify and search for other gang members, Upadhyay said.
The bodies have been handed over to family members by the police after post-mortem examination was completed, the SP said....
