2 die as car hits truck on Delhi-Mum e-way
Bharatpur/Sawai Madhopur, Dec. 15 -- Two men have died after their car collided with a truck on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near Sawai Madhopur, police said on Sunday.
The accident occurred on Saturday under the jurisdiction of Chauth Ka Barwara police station, said Mahendra Sharma, in charge of the police station.
Upon being informed, police officials reached the spot and took the injured to the district hospital, where doctors declared them dead.
After the accident, the truck driver fled the scene. Police are scanning CCTV footage to trace the vehicle.
Sharma said the car occupants died after their vehicle hit a truck on the expressway. The truck driver fled after the collision.
"One of the deceased was identified through an Aadhaar card as Sonu Kumar, 28, a resident of Hisar in Haryana. The other man is yet to be identified," said Sharma.
Relatives of the deceased arrived after being informed by the police. The bodies will be handed over to the family members after post-mortem, police said.
The truck will be seized soon. Prima facie, it appears the car rammed into the truck from behind, police officials added....
