2 dead in fire in henna factory in Pali: Police
Barmer/Pali, Nov. 17 -- Two workers were killed and another seriously injured after a fire broke out at a henna-manufacturing unit in Pali district's Sojat town late on Saturday night, police said, adding that one of the deceased was a migrant worker from Uttar Pradesh.
According to Sojat city circle officer Ratana Ram Dewasi, who confirmed the development, the deceased were identified as Sanjay (30), originally from Uttar Pradesh, and Kanaram from Sojat.
Locals used a JCB machine to rescue the injured and rush them to hospital, said Dewasi, adding that Sanjay died on the spot whereas Kanaram succumbed to his injuries on Sunday. The other injured worker was identified as Gopal (31), he added. Sanjay's charred and initially unidentified body was recovered from the burnt ruins and kept in the district hospital mortuary till its identification, he said.
Firefighters battled the flames for nearly two hours and brought the situation under control around 2AM, said the circle officer, adding that the cause of the fire was currently under investigation....
