148 Bangladeshi nationals in RAj sent to Bengal border region
Jaipur, May 15 -- At least 148 Bangladeshi nationals who have been identified staying illegally in Rajasthan by the state police were sent to the West Bengal border on Wednesday morning via Jodhpur airport to send back to their country, said officials.
The Director General of the Intelligence Department of Rajasthan police, Sanjay Agrawal said, "At least 148 illegally Bangladeshi nationals were deported to the West Bengal-Bangladesh border today via Jodhpur airport. Majority of these nationals were detained from Sikar and have been kept in Jaipur's temporary detention centre. From West Bengal, the officials of the Border Security Force (BSF) will contact to their Bangladesh counterpart and take the further action to send them back to Bangladesh."
Agrawal also said that this is the first batch of deportation while more batches will be deported in the coming days following a thorough document verification. "Rajasthan police have so far detained at least 1008 Bangladeshi nationals who have been allegedly staying in the state illegally. They were sent to across six detention centres in the state. Of the total, majority were found in Jaipur only - 761," said the DG.
According to the police, the intelligence unit is monitoring the process from the Police Headquarters in Jaipur while the district police superintendents and the Jaipur commissioner were assigned to form their teams....
