Jaipur, June 11 -- The 11 years of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi was an era of progress, pride and significant changes in India, said chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Tuesday. "The 11 years of our PM Modi was an era of progress, pride and changes in India. It's his long-term vision that made India's economy one of the largest in the world. Since 2014, PM Modi's strong guidance and clear goals have changed the picture of our country. He has also given a powerful image to India that everyone bows down to," Sharma said while addressing a press conference at the regional headquarter of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jaipur. Earlier in the day, he along with BJP state president Madan Rathore inaugurated an exhibition on the 11 years of the BJP government led by PM Modi at the BJP state office in Jaipur. "When he took over, India was 11th economy in the world, But it came to the fifth rank a few years after he started working on this country's development and today India is the fourth largest economy of the world which is aiming to secure the third rank soon. Throughout the process, his priority was the poor, women and the youth," he said. He further said: "At least 15 crore (150 million) of households were provided with tap water connection, 12 crore (120 million) toilets were set up for women, the agriculture budget was increased five times, and also 3 crore (30 million) women were made Lakhapati Didi during Modi's administration." The CM also highlighted how the defence budget was utilised to produce self-dependent weapons like BrahMos. He stated, "For the first time, at least 60% of the cabinet ministers in the central governments belong to the SC- ST and OBC communities. Implementation of the National Education Policy also ensured a new structure of educational reformation in the country." "Under the Ayushmann Health schemes, at least 1.16 crore (11.6 million) people were benefitted in Rajasthan while 23 lakh (2.3 million) people got a new home in the state under the PM Awas Yojana. A total 23 medical colleges were also set up in the state in the last 11 years," said Sharma. Meanwhile, Congress spokesperson Swarnim Chaturvedi slammed the BJP-led central government. "The 11 years of Modi government is big zero. Neither farmers income had been increased, Swaminathan's recommendation have been implemented, nor Ganga was cleaned. No promises were fulfilled. Inflation has been a norm in India, no policy was taken aiming for the public."...
