Kota, Sept. 29 -- A 10-year-old TV actor and his 15-year-old brother died of suffocation after a fire broke out in their fourth-floor flat in Anantpura area of Kota on Sunday , police said, adding that a preliminary probe suggests a short circuit led to the fire. According to police, Veer Sharma and his elder brother Shaurya Sharma were asleep when the incident happened around 2am on Sunday at the flat in Deepshri Multi-Storey Apartment. Veer played the role of Bharat in 'Shrimad Ramayan' and was set to feature as young Saif Ali Khan in an upcoming movie and Shaurya was preparing for IIT, cops said. They added that their mother, actress Rita Sharma, was in Mumbai at the time of the incident, while their father Jitendra Sharma, a teacher, was attending a religious function. SP Tejaswini Gautam, who reached the spot with forensic experts, said the blaze destroyed the drawing room, furniture, air-conditioner, LED television, and other electrical equipment. The bodies have been returned to the family following the post-mortem examination, she said. The SP said neighbours noticed smoke billowing from the flat and rushed to break open the door. Although they pulled the unconscious children out and rushed them to hospital, they were declared dead on arrival. She added that the air-conditioner was on, with all doors and windows closed, leading to smoke filling the rooms. Gautam said that the family decided to donate both of the children's eyes after their father expressed a wish in this regard....
