Udaipur, Aug. 5 -- A tanker carrying acid overturned and caught fire resulting in the death of the driver on Monday early morning in National Highway-27 near Udaipur, police said. Station house officer of the Badgaon police station Pooran Singh said that the incident took place on the Gogunda-Pindwara stretch at around 4am near Ghasiyar village. "The tanker, which was carrying acid, was headed toward Byawar from Ahmedabad. While descending a slope Gogunda block of Udaipur at high speed, the vehicle suddenly lost control and overturned. Immediately after the crash, the tanker caught fire. The driver was trapped inside the cabin and unable to escape in time, leading to his death in the blaze," he said.
