1 held, 2 minors detained in U.P. for killing Raj shopkeeper: Cop
Bharatpur, July 16 -- Two minors were detained and a 20-year-old man was arrested in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday for killing a shopkeeper who refused them to give goods on credit and Rs.1,500 in Bharatpur, a police officer said.
"The incident took place on Sunday when five people, all residents of Peepla village, reached the shop in neighbouring village Fulwara. They demanded goods on credit and Rs.1,500 for a party but the shopkeeper refused them. They later came and assaulted the shopkeeper's son Brijesh Singh," said Akansha Kumari, rural circle officer.
She further said that when Brijesh's father, Ashok Singh, came to know about the incident, he rushed to the spot and the accused opened fire. "During the shooting, one of the bullets hit Ashok. He was rushed to the district hospital by his son but doctors declared him brought dead," she said.
"Of the three nabbed, the two minors were detained from Agra and the other, Teerath Pal, was arrested in Mathura under BNS 103 (murder)," she added....
