1,200 criminals held in one-day crackdown in Udaipur range: IGP
Udaipur, July 29 -- Over 1,200 criminals were arrested as part of a single-day crackdown across the Udaipur Range under Inspector General of Police (IGP) Gaurav Shrivastav.
"A new phase of zero-tolerance policing has begun. This operation reflects our unwavering resolve to eliminate criminal networks, restore public trust, and send a clear message no one is above the law," IGP Shrivastav said at a press conference on Monday.
"Led by superintendent of police Yogesh Goyal, more than 530 police personnel formed over 110 teams that raided 877 locations across the Udaipur district. Around 367 people were arrested, including 66 under permanent/arrest warrants, 13 wanted in active FIRs, three involved in grave offences such as temple theft and burglary, 270 preventive arrests under BNS, seven new FIRs filed under Excise, Arms, and NDPS laws, and 35 history-sheeters were questioned," he said.
"At Dungarpur, under SP Manish Kumar's leadership, 52 police teams raided 362 targeted sites, arresting 84 people, including 10 with permanent warrants, five accused in serious crimes such as murder and drug trafficking, seven under various BNS sections, four booked under Special Acts and 70 vehicles were seized under MV Act," the IGP said.
"At Pratapgarh, 157 criminals were arrested. The operation was led by SP B Aditya and supervised by additional SP Parbat Singh, involving 57 teams and 307 officers, who conducted raids at 242 different locations. Those arrested included 25 under permanent warrants, 27 under arrest warrants, seven under NDPS, two under Arms Act (with knives recovered), seven under Excise Act; 47.64 liters of illegal liquor seized, 79 arrests under BNS Sections 126-170, 19 vehicles seized, including 12 two-wheelers, six cars, and one pickup," Shrivastav said....
