'Rs.24K-cr allocated for urban infra in 3 years'
Jaipur, July 25 -- In a boost to Rajasthan's urban infrastructure, the Centre has sanctioned and allocated over Rs.24,000 crore in the past three years and the current fiscal under flagship schemes, including PMAY-Urban, AMRUT, SBM-Urban, PM SVANidhi, and PM e-Bus Sewa.
The data, shared in the Rajya Sabha in response to a question by MP Rajendra Gehlot, outlines district-wise progress and fund utilisation under key urban schemes, including PMAY-Urban, AMRUT, SBM-Urban, PM SVANidhi, and the newly launched PM e-Bus Sewa, covering housing, sanitation, mobility, and urban livelihoods.
Under the PMAY-U and PMAY-U 2.0, Rajasthan has seen the sanctioning of 185,000 houses, of which 86,336 units have been completed.
The Centre has sanctioned Rs.1,961.85 crore, out of which Rs.1,094.5 crore has been released, and Rs.928.32 crore utilised so far.
The revamped PMAY-U 2.0 aims to provide affordable housing to an additional one crore eligible urban beneficiaries across the country.
The state received Rs.2,471.26 crore under the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban, which includes Rs.705.46 crore under the first phase (2014-2021) and Rs.1,765.80 crore under SBM-U 2.0 (2021-2026). So far, Rs.864.3 crore has been released.
Rajasthan has constructed over 368,000 individual toilets and 31,300 community/public toilets under the mission. About 50.58% of the state's urban waste - 4,124 tonnes per day out of 8,153 TPD - is being scientifically processed.
The PM SVANidhi scheme, launched to assist street vendors affected by the pandemic, has seen the disbursement of 244,000 loans to 189,000 vendors across Rajasthan. Though the financial value is not mentioned explicitly, the disbursals are estimated to be worth Rs.500 crore, factoring in multiple tranches of loans.
Under the PM e-Bus Sewa, 675 electric buses have been sanctioned for eight cities in Rajasthan - Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Ajmer, Udaipur, Bikaner, Bhilwara, and Alwar.
An amount of Rs.44.46 crore has been released for power and civil infrastructure to support deployment of these buses.
The first phase of AMRUT saw the launch of 144 projects worth Rs.3,485.97 crore, of which 134 have been completed. Rajasthan received Rs.1,511.23 crore, with utilisation certificates submitted for Rs.1,456.95 crore.
Under AMRUT 2.0, launched in 2021, Rajasthan has been approved 321 projects worth Rs.10,823.72 crore.
Work has begun on 183 of these projects with awarded contracts worth Rs.5,595.24 crore, and Rs.695.45 crore has already been released by the Centre....
