'46 docs hold licence without clearing test'
Jaipur, March 31 -- In its latest investigation into the fake medical certification racket, the Rajasthan Special Operation Group (SOG) has found that a total 46 doctors were received the license to practice in Rajasthan without clearing the required Foreign Medical Graduation Examination (FMGE).
The additional director general of SOG, Visal Bansal, said, "The development came to the fore after analysing the mobile and other documents seized from two masterminds of the gang who had been arrested along with the former Rajasthan Medical Council registrar last week."
According to the officials, the SOG found several transaction and other documents and forged certificates from the mobile phone details of two accused Shubham Gurjar and Bhanaram Mali.
"All of them have been issued a registration certificate from RMC without qualifying the test. They all paid Rs.25 lakh to Rs.30 lakh to the racket," said Bansal.
In a major crackdown on a fake medical certification racket, the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Rajasthan Police has arrested 18 accused, including former registrar of the Rajasthan Medical Council (RMC), Dr Rajesh Sharma, officials said on Wednesday.
According to additional director general of police (SOG) Vishal Bansal, the action was initiated after a complaint regarding forged Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) certificates. Following a preliminary probe, an FIR was registered, leading to the unearthing of a larger organised network. Officials said over 90 such doctors have been identified so far....
