Woman booked making for false rape claim after payment dispute
Gurugram, April 24 -- Police have filed a complaint in a city court against a 29-year-old woman for allegedly making a false rape allegation against her employer following a payment dispute, officials said on Thursday.
Police said the woman, a cook associated with a mobile app, had been booked by a resident of Sector 47. After completing the work on Monday night, a disagreement over payment allegedly led her to dial 112 and report that she was sexually assaulted at the employer's residence.
A police team, along with an emergency response vehicle, reached the spot soon after receiving the alert. However, during the investigation, officers found no evidence to support the allegation and concluded that the complaint was false.
Sandeep Turan, public relations officer of Gurugram police, said the woman works through an online platform. "A dispute arose over payment made her file a false complaint," he said.
