Dehradun, Dec. 7 -- Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) on Saturday said it has intensified preparations to ensure smooth and reliable electricity supply across the state's winter tourist hotspots. It added that the UPCL Managing Director has directed all regional units to guarantee quality and uninterrupted power supply during the winter season at major tourist and pilgrimage destinations, including Mussoorie, Auli, Lansdowne, Joshimath, Dhanaulti, Rishikesh, Haridwar, Almora, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Munsyari, Chakrata, Rajaji National Park, Tehri, Devprayag, Chamba, Harshil, and the Char Dham winter worship sites. "To meet this objective, UPCL is carrying out daily monitoring of all 33/11 kV substations, HT/LT lines, 11 kV feeders, and street-lighting systems in tourist areas," the release said, adding that officials were instructed to conduct intensive inspections and keep teams on high alert....
