India, Dec. 2 -- Another day, another woman raped. This time around, she was raped and set on fire. Another woman's life brutally cut short, her last hours, minutes and seconds full of fear, pain, torture, and brutality. Another family left heartbroken, shattered, condemned to a life of grief, anger, regret and an endless loop of "what ifs" -what if she hadn't gone to work that day, what if she had taken a different route, what if she hadn't ventured out alone, what if she had called. Another media spectacle, another game of passing the buck among those in power who are supposed to protect us, another series of columns like this one and television panels with politicians trying to fix blame and politicising the incident to their benefit. Another week of outraged reactions on social media and calls for change. And then, all the voices and anger will die and people will move on to other, more interesting stories until another woman is brutally raped and killed again. Rinse and repeat. Welcome to the India that we women live in....
