Gurugram, July 15 -- Two more people were arrested in connection with the murder of a woman from Gurugram, who was decapitated at Khatima in Udham Singh Nagar of Uttarakhand last November, police said on Monday, taking the total number of arrests to three. The arrests of a 67-year-old man and his 27-year-old son come after a main accused in the murder, 32-year-old Mushtaque Ahmed, was arrested on April 30, after police cracked the missing persons' case. The two others were identified as Mushtaque's father, Ali Ahmed and brother Saddam Hussain. Sandeep Kumar, public relations officer of Gurugram police, said that according to the investigation, Hussain and Ali Ahmed held their victim, Jharna Biswas alias Puja, 35, of Nanakmatta, and Mushtaque Ahmed killed her. "They carried the body and dumped it into the canal," he said, adding further investigation was going on. The woman's decomposed torso was recovered from Nadanna canal, hardly 40kms away from Nepal, police said, adding that Ali Ahmed and Hussain were taken on a five-day police remand for interrogation on Monday. Police said Puja was in a live-in relationship with Mushtaque Ahmed, and she lived in Ashok Vihar Phase-3, Sector 3. However, upon learning that Mushtaque had married another woman, she left Gurugram on October 25 and went to confront him. She was reported missing by her sister, Parmila Biswas, at the Sector 5 police station on December 19, 2024. Police said she was decapitated at Khatima on November 16, 2024....
