two held for supplying usd to cyber criminals to buy crypto
Gurugram, June 11 -- Two men were arrested for allegedly aiding cyber fraudsters by supplying US dollars at inflated rates for cryptocurrency purchases, police said on Tuesday.
The accused, Shekhar Suman of Sitamarhi, Bihar, and Rajat Kumar of Jind, were arrested by the Cybercrime (West) police team on June 5 and 6, respectively. "They had earned Rs.3 lakh commission merely by providing USD to suspects at higher rates," said ACP (Cybercrime) Priyanshu Dewan.
He said they misled gullible people to access their bank accounts, helped transfer duped money, and withdrew cash to deliver to cyber gangs.
"They had earlier run a cybercafe in Noida and joined the fraud network a year ago," Dewan added. Eighteen debit cards, seven SIMs, electronics, and documents were seized. An FIR under cheating and forgery was filed.debashish karmakar...
