Gurugram, Dec. 16 -- The Gurugram traffic police have asked the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) to relocate an electricity pole on the stretch from Kherki Majra T-Point to Basai Flyover near Sector 102, citing safety concerns, officials said. In a December 8 letter to DHBVN, Rajesh Mohan, deputy commissioner of police (traffic), said, "It obstructs the right-of-way, making the stretch highly accident-prone, particularly during peak traffic hours and low-visibility conditions." Residents echoed the concern. Sunil Sareen, a Sector 102 resident and joint convenor of DXP-GDA, said traffic had increased due to the pole and visibility was poor during fog. Meanwhile, Jitender Kumar, another resident, said "the road was used by hundreds of families and traffic heading to Delhi." A senior Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited official said the 66 kV pole could be shifted only as deposit work. "Shifting will take six to nine months, and costs will depend on the new location," he said, asking not to be named....
