Gurugram, Aug. 18 -- Three unidentified men on motorcycles opened fire outside YouTuber and reality TV personality Elvish Yadav's residence in Gurugram's Sector 57 early Sunday, police said. The assailants fired over two dozen rounds around 5.30am, several of which struck the ground and first floors of the building where Yadav lives on the second floor, before fleeing. A team from the Sector 56 police station reached the spot, collected forensic samples, and began scanning CCTV footage from the neighbourhood. "The incident took place around 5.30am, and more than a dozen rounds were fired. Elvish Yadav was not at his residence at the time," said Sandeep Kumar, spokesperson for Gurugram police. He added that an FIR is being registered on the family's complaint under Section 109(1) (attempt to murder) and Section 3(5) (common intention) of the BNS, along with Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act, 1959. Hours later, gangsters Neeraj Faridpur and Bhau Ritaulia, in a social media post under the name "Bhau Gang", claimed responsibility. "Jai Bhole ki, Ram Ram! The bullets that were fired at Elvish Yadav's house today were fired by us. He has ruined many houses by promoting betting apps. Other social media influencers promoting betting may face bullets or calls," the post read. Police, however, declined to confirm the authenticity. Ram Avtar Yadav, Elvish's father, said, "Around 5.30am, we heard a sound, and when we came outside, we saw bullets had been fired. The CCTV footage shows two attackers clearly and possibly a third. More than 15 rounds were fired. Elvish was not at home; he is out for work. We are scared and hope the police arrest the accused soon." He said no prior threats had been received. Police are probing possible links with a recent shooting at singer Rahul Fazilpuria's home. Both artists had collaborated on a controversial music album. No arrests had been made till Sunday evening. Yadav rose to fame with his YouTube content and after winning Bigg Boss in 2023....
