Meerut, Aug. 3 -- An 18-year-old boy was allegedly beaten to death by the brother and nephew of a local BJP councillor, reportedly over a property dispute, in the Katghar area of Moradabad late Friday night, said police on Saturday. The victim, Dev Thakur, had returned to his ancestral home to arrange funds for the treatment of his ailing mother at AIIMS Rishikesh. The incident took place around 11 pm near Holika Maidan under the jurisdiction of Katghar police station. According to locals and family members, Dev was assaulted with iron rods and sticks by Hariom Singh, brother of BJP councillor Kuldeep Narayan, and his nephew Monu following the dispute.
