Haldwani, Dec. 29 -- Nainital police enforced special traffic arrangements, including restricting the entry of tourist vehicles and introducing shuttle services, to ease traffic congestions caused by a massive influx of visitors ahead of New Year celebrations, officials said on Sunday.
SP (Traffic) Nainital, Jagdish Chandra, said a special traffic plan had been put in place to ensure smooth movement during the peak tourist season. "Our priority is to ensure that tourists reach their hotels safely and conveniently. As parking facilities in the city get filled very quickly, only those staying at hotels with dedicated parking are allowed to bring their vehicles inside the town. Shuttle services have been arranged for the remaining tourists," he said.
Police stopped tourist vehicles at the Russi bypass and Narayan Nagar bypass on Sunday. Tourists were ferried into the town through shuttle services arranged by the administration....
