Gurugram, July 10 -- A 31-year-old man, allegedly fleeing with a stolen scooter, died after being hit by a speeding cab at Shankar Chowk on the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway early Wednesday, police said. The accident occurred between 4.30am and 4.45am as the suspect was heading towards Delhi after exiting the DLF Phase-III area, they added. Police said they were alerted by cab drivers who witnessed the accident and were present at the spot when it took place. According to police, other cab drivers at the spot rushed the injured man to a private hospital in DLF Phase III, where he died during treatment due to severe head injuries. "Investigators tried to ascertain the identity of the suspect but found nothing on him except a damaged mobile phone," the officer said, adding that efforts to trace the driver are underway. The suspect was identified as Janu, a resident of Jahangirpuri, Delhi. They believe he had an associate who fled after the accident....
