Gurugram, May 4 -- A government school teacher was arrested on Friday in Nuh for allegedly sexually assaulting multiple minor girl students, police said on Saturday. The case triggered widespread outrage among local residents and parents. The arrested accused teaches at a government school in Birawati village, and lives in a rented house in Sohna. The arrest came after the school's headmaster filed a formal complaint with the women's police station in Nuh, accusing the teacher of inappropriate behaviour toward several girl students. Police officials confirmed that the complaint was supported by multiple student testimonies, prompting swift action. "After receiving the complaint, a team was sent to the school. Statements of the affected students were recorded, and a case was registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act," said Krishan Kumar spokesperson for Nuh Police. "Given the seriousness of the allegations, the matter is being investigated thoroughly from all angles," the spokesperson added. The accused was produced before a local court on Saturday and was taken on 14-day police custody for further questioning.
