Gurugram, July 23 -- The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Haryana, is set to launch a large-scale artificial intelligence (AI) training programme for government schoolteachers from primary to Class 12 across all subjects. The initiative, aligned with NCERT's vision for tech-enabled education, aims to bridge the digital gap between government and private schools by making classrooms more interactive, student-centric, and data-driven. Face-to-face training will begin in the last week of August, led by a 10-member expert team currently finalising the modules. These master trainers will hold district workshops, followed by online sessions for over 20,000 teachers via SCERT's 'Parshikshak' portal. Earlier this month, SCERT had launched a focused programme under NCERT guidelines for science and maths teachers, training 2,200 educators to conduct virtual experiments. Now, the department has expanded its scope. "This time, the training will be for all subjects from primary to Class 12. Earlier, our virtual lab training focused only on science and maths. But AI tools are relevant for every subject now," said Samvartak Singh, director, SCERT. Training outcomes will be evaluated through the Peer Learning Circle (PLC) method, where resource persons will assess teacher performance through assignments and module completion. "Artificial intelligence is no longer just a concept-it is now a tool that can significantly improve classroom efficiency," said Manoj Kaushik, head of SCERT's education tech wing. Private schools in Gurugram have already adopted AI in classrooms. "Teachers at KIIT use AI to plan interactive lessons, personalise learning, and automate tasks," said principal Neelima Kamrah. DAV Public School, Sector 14, also uses tools like Quizizz and Canva. AI tools are making teaching more effective and engaging," said principal Aparna Erry....
