Police bust Rs.90L Kichha theft case, 3 arrested
Rudrapur, May 11 -- Police have busted a major theft case reported from Awas Vikas Colony in Kichha of Udham Singh Nagar district and arrested three accused while recovering stolen ornaments, cash and other valuables worth around Rs.90 lakh, officials said on Sunday.
Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Udham Singh Nagar Ajay Ganapati said, "A theft took place in a house in Kichha when the family was away. Four police teams were constituted to identify and nab the accused. The teams on Saturday arrested Deepak Gupta of Keshav Nagar in Sitarganj, Aquil Ahmed of Khatima and Deepak Rastogi of Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh from Keshav Nagar in Sitarganj and recovered stolen ornaments, cash and other valuables from them."
Police recovered 389 grams of gold, 3.417 kg of silver, a motorcycle, Rs.3.85 lakh cash and a weighing machine from them.
On April 19, they broke into the house and stole ornaments, cash and other valuables. The next day Rajendra Goel filed an FIR, saying valuables of around Rs.90 lakh had been stolen.
During questioning, the accused told police that some of the ornaments had been sold to a goldsmith in Shahjahanpur.
Ganapati said the accused were produced before a court on Sunday, which remanded them to judicial custody...
