Gurugram, May 22 -- Two dengue cases were reported from Nuh and Tauru blocks in Nuh district, nearly two months ahead of the usual time of vector-borne diseases, health department officials said. The dengue cases have raised concerns of an early start to the dengue transmission cycle this year, they added. A five-year-old boy, Tanish (single name), a resident of Punjabi Mohalla in Nuh, allegedly first caught the vector-borne disease, health officials said. The second patient is a 28-year-old resident of Tauru. Dr Sarvajeet Thaper, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Nuh, confirmed that both patients are stable and under treatment. "Usually, we begin to see dengue cases trickling in around late June or early July. But, this year, due to untimely and scattered rainfall, the transmission cycle for dengue has shifted ahead by at least six weeks in the area," he said.htc...
