Gurugram, Aug. 18 -- The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has launched a special action plan to tackle monsoon waterlogging. Engineering and sanitation teams are using 20 suction tankers in high-density areas. "We are prioritising stretches where traffic congestion is severe and residential areas where stagnant water is creating health risks," said MCG chief engineer Vijay Dhaka. Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya directed that "no location remains waterlogged" and stressed immediate drainage to avoid inconvenience. Preventive health measures, including fogging and anti-larval spraying, have been intensified against dengue and malaria. Waterlogging has long plagued Gurugram due to unplanned urbanisation, encroachment of drains, and poor maintenance, officials said.
