Haldwani, Nov. 6 -- Police have launched a probe after a video surfaced on social media allegedly showing two men forcing a local from a minority community to chant religious slogans in Haldwani, police said on Wednesday. According to police, the incident took place near the Judge's Court area along Nainital Road in Kathgodam. The victim, a resident of the locality, was reportedly standing near the court when two men arrived on a motorcycle and allegedly demanded that he chant religious slogans , said police, adding that when he refused, the duo allegedly threatened him with dire consequences. Police said the victim recorded entire incident. The purported video, which later went viral on social media, shows one of the accused issuing threats while insisting the man chant the slogan, they added.
