Man drags guard after ramming car, arrested
Gurugram, Jan. 6 -- A 33-year-old Delhi resident was arrested for ramming his friend's car and dragging a security guard over 50 metres in DLF Phase-I, police said Monday.
The accused identified as, Gaurav Kumar, a property dealer from Sultanpur, allegedly drove his Swift Dzire into his friend Aditya Kapoor's Toyota Camry on January 1 around 7.35am, police said.
Gurugram Police spokesperson Sandeep Turan said the act followed a "petty dispute" while partying on New Year's Eve. "Aditya had rung Gaurav multiple times on the morning of January 1, which had irked him," Turan said.
Police said Gaurav rammed the Camry with his Swift Dzire while security guard Jia Lal Mandal, 29, was cleaning it.
"The guard tried to intercept the car and was dragged for more than 50 metres before falling and sustaining injuries," Turan said.
Mandal sustained bruises in the incident, police said.
Based on Mandal's Saturday complaint, an FIR for rash driving and endangering public life was registered.
The suspect's car, licence, and registration were seized, according to officers aware of the case....
