Man dies in compressor blast at AC manufacturing factory
Gurugram, June 12 -- A 31-year-old man, who worked in an air-conditioner manufacturing plant at Gurugram's Sector 75 in Kherki Daula, was killed in an explosion of an outdoor unit of an AC, police said on Wednesday.
They said that the incident occurred when the deceased, identified as Ghanshyam Kumar, was inspecting the compressor of an outdoor unit of an AC fitted inside the plant at 4.30pm on Tuesday.
Investigators said other workers got frightened and fled from the area on hearing the noise of the blast. Later, they found Kumar lying in a pool of blood near the site of the explosion.
Station house officer of the Kherki Daula police station, Inspector Virender Khatri, said that the employees took the victim to a private hospital in Sector 38 as soon as he was found.
"But doctors declared him dead on arrival. Later, his family was informed about the incident following which his brother Radheshyam Kumar reached the city from Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh," Khatri said.
The SHO said that Radheshyam alleged that his brother had alerted the company management multiple times about worn-out and old equipment and asked for replacements. "However, no action was taken which ultimately resulted in the blast," he said.
"Based on his complaint, an FIR for causing death by negligence was registered against the company management at Kherki Daula police station on Wednesday," the SHO said....
