Haridwar, Sept. 13 -- A 50-year-old man was arrested on Friday after allegedly murdering his 45-year-old live-in partner, police said. The accused was employed as a driver in the medical department and was in a relationship with the victim for over a decade, police said, adding that the incident took place around 3am after a verbal dispute between the two escalated and the accused shot the victim, killing her on the spot. He later surrendered at Ranipur police station, police said, adding that a case has been registered against him under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, they added.
