Man accused in double murder case held in UP, hunt on for one
Rudrapur, May 16 -- A 36-year-old man has been arrested in UP's Rampur district in connection with a double murder in Rudrapur last month, police officers aware of the matter said on Thursday, adding that they are looking for one more accused who is absconding.
Police also recovered a countrymade pistol from the possession of the accused, identified as Sunny Mangad, who was produced in court and sent to jail on Thursday. The absconding accused was identified as Vishal Huriya.
"Seven accused, including five brothers, have been arrested for allegedly shooting dead a man, Gurmej Singh (60), a resident of Ishwar Colony in Rudrapur, and his son, Manpreet Singh (26), on April 28 over a property dispute. Two suspects were on the run, and one of them, Mangad, was arrested at Bilaspur in UP's Rampur district on Wednesday," said US Nagar SSP Manikant Mishra.
Police received information that Mangad was hiding at a gurdwara in Bilaspur from where he was arrested, said Mishra. htc...
