Gurugram, July 14 -- The Nuh district administration has imposed a complete ban on the sale and public handling of meat and non-vegetarian food items along the Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra route and around key temples on Monday for 18 hours (6am to 12am) to maintain public order, officials said. "The ban will be effective from 6am to midnight, covering the route from Nalhad Mahadev Temple to Zhirkeshwar Mahadev Temple in Ferozepur Jhirka and the Singar Temple in Singar village," said Nuh deputy commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena. "Legal action will be taken against violators," he added. As part of broader measures, internet services will be suspended in the district from 9pm on Sunday for 24 hours, Meena said. The administration has also rejected a permission request for the yatra by self-styled cow vigilante and Goraksha Bajrang Force chief Raj Kumar, alias Bittu Bajrangi, and suspended his social media account to curb the spread of misinformation. Bajrangi had earlier moved the Punjab and Haryana high court seeking the permission. To ensure student safety amid anticipated traffic diversions, all government and private schools in Nuh will remain closed on July 14, officials said. The yatra will see a heavy security presence, including 2,500 police personnel, 14 DSPs manning 28 checkpoints with videography and thorough checks. Mounted police, sniffer dogs, bomb squads, drones, and commando teams will also be deployed. Rapid Action Force (RAF) units will guard sensitive locations like Tiranga Park, Badkali Chowk, and the KMP Rewasan Bridge. The administration has also banned the open sale of petrol and diesel in containers on July 14. A blanket ban on drones, gliders, microlights, kites, and firecrackers under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, is in place for July 13 and 14. A control room at the Mini Secretariat will remain operational until 9pm on Monday, with helplines at 01267-299625 and WhatsApp +91 90503 17480. The measures aim to prevent a repeat of the July 31, 2023 violence, when the yatra saw clashes and arson, officials said. Additional DGP Sanjay Kumar has reviewed preparations, stressing inter-departmental coordination and continuous patrolling, officials added....
