India, July 12 -- The Nuh Police has put in place extensive security arrangements deploying approximately 2,500 personnel who will remain on high alert throughout the upcoming Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra on Monday, officials said. The stringent measures are meant to prevent any untoward incident, especially in light of the violent clashes that marred the yatra in 2023 in Nuh. The security blueprint for the 2025 yatra includes the establishment of 28 checkpoints, overseen by 14 deputy superintendents of police (DSPs). Each checkpoint will feature videography and thorough inspections to ensure that no disruptive elements can infiltrate the procession. To further bolster security, specialized units such as mounted police, sniffer dog squads, bomb disposal teams, four drones, 21 video cameras, and commando units will be strategically deployed. Additionally, personnel from the Rapid Action Force (RAF), equipped with light machine guns and tear gas guns, will be on standby. Meanwhile, self-styled cow vigilante Raj Kumar, alias Bittu Bajrangi, earlier moved the Punjab and Haryana high court seeking permission to participate in the Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra on Monday. The yatra is the same religious procession during which communal riots broke out in Nuh on July 31, 2023, later spreading to Sohna and parts of Gurugram. The violence left six people, including a home guard, dead and injured over 70 others. The incident also saw armed mobs pelting stones and setting vehicles on fire, leading to widespread unrest. Key locations along the yatra route, including Tiranga Park, Badkali Chowk, and the KMP Rewasan Bridge, will be under special vigilance. CCTV cameras will continuously monitor the movement of pilgrims, and a police team, led by a DSP, will be stationed at every crucial point. Nuh deputy commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena has issued an advisory for the closure of all schools in the district on Monday. The decision, conveyed on Friday, acknowledges that major traffic diversions will be enforced across several routes during the yatra....
