Gurugram, May 26 -- Gurugram Amid a spike in black fungus cases in Haryana, the state health department has prepared a global tender for the procurement of amphotericin-B drug used in the treatment of the fungal infection, at an estimated cost of Rs.7 crore.

However, the state government will wait for more allocation of vials from the Centre before it decides to float the tender, said officials familiar with the matter on Tuesday.

Currently, there are 454 black fungus cases in the state, out of which 156 are from Gurugram. Each patient requires at least six vials of amphotericin-B a day in the initial 14 days of treatment.
