India, June 7 -- The Gurugram district health department reported nine fresh Covid-19 cases in the city on Friday, health department officials said. A 37-year-old man who recently returned from Meghalaya, tested positive, according to health officials. With the nine new cases, the total tally for the respiratory ailment touched 56 in Gurugram. On Friday, the health department collected 300 samples after a screening for the infection. "We are monitoring the situation. I have instructed the staff to stay alert and ensure no negligence in dealing with cases," said Dr Alka Singh, chief medical officer. "A dedicated team is in place to provide proper treatment to all patients." "To strengthen surveillance, the health department has directed private laboratories and hospitals to fill Form-C for foreign visitors. Form-C is a registration document for foreign nationals, which includes personal and travel details.
