Govt tightens road safety rules for employees
Lucknow, Feb. 13 -- To ensure compliance with existing traffic norms, the Uttar Pradesh government has made helmets mandatory for government employees on two-wheelers and seat belts for those in four-wheelers. Chief secretary Manoj Kumar Singh has directed officials to enforce these rules strictly. Security personnel will check compliance at office entrances, and traffic police will take action against violators. Employees must avoid mobile use while driving, and non-compliance may lead to disciplinary action. "The decision follows a review meeting chaired by Justice (retd.) Abhay Manohar Saprey (former Chief Justice, Supreme Court) on February 5 here, emphasising effective measures to curb road accidents," additional transport commissioner (Road Safety) P Satyarthi said....
