Gurugram, Oct. 20 -- The Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) has written to the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) seeking relocation of the Naharpur Rupa police post, which stands next to the entrance of the casting yard at Transport Nagar, Sector 33, obstructing the movement of structural materials. According to officials, the casting yard will see regular movement of heavy vehicles transporting precast concrete segments for metro viaducts. The project contractor, Dilip Buildcon, meanwhile, requested the relocation citing operational hurdles, officials said. In a letter dated October 15, GMRL stated, "Considering the national importance of the Gurugram Metro project and the need to maintain its momentum, we earnestly request your kind approval for the early shifting of the police chowki along with the proposal for the new location for shifting/constructing the police chowki." A GMRL official, requesting anonymity, said construction is expected to accelerate from mid-November once the casting yard is operational and load testing of 10 test piles is completed.
