GMDA to revamp Dhanwapur STP
India, May 1 -- The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) will build a new pumping station at the Dhanwapur sewage treatment plant with a capacity of 665mld (million litres per day) at an estimated cost of Rs.119 crore. The new facility will be constructed with advanced technology in place, which will prevent the spread of foul odour in sectors 9 and 9A, GMDA officials said, adding that the tender for the project will be floated in a week.
The main pumping station at the Dhanwapur sewage treatment plant is operational since the year 2000, and authority officials said that expansion of the treating capacity will ensure that an increased amount of sewage can be treated.
"The tender for construction of the main pumping station of 650mld will be floated within a week. A new pipeline from the proposed main pumping station will be built to connect with existing and proposed STPs," said a GMDA official, adding that the project would be completed in two years....
