Ggm sees no malaria cases so far in '25: Data
Gurugram, April 30 -- The district has reported zero malaria cases till the end of March 2025, marking a significant decline in infections over the past five years, health officials said on Tuesday. According to the officials, sustained surveillance, anti-larval measures, and public awareness are to becredited for the control of the disease.
According to the district health department, malaria cases dropped from 15 in 2019 to 4 in 2020, 2 in 2021, and none in 2022 and 2023. In 2024, only two cases were recorded, with no cases confirmed so far in 2025.
"We have been able to keep malaria under control through consistent field-level action and early interventions. Community support from local citizens in Gurugram has also been crucial," said Dr Jai Prakash, deputy civil surgeon, Gurugram.
The last malaria-related death in Haryana was recorded in 2015, and no fatalities have occurred since then, officials said.
According to health officials, the anti-larval campaign in Gurugram runs for eight months a year, excluding December and January. "We will begin this year's campaign with the first rainfall," said Dr Alka Singh, civil surgeon, Gurugram....
